Villa VignamaggioAs one of my bucket list destinations, there was no way I wasn’t scheduling in some time to visit Tuscany during my European holiday back in July.

A day at a vineyard is my favourite pastime, so after a few hours of researching places to see in Tuscany, I stumbled upon Villa Vignamaggio in Chianti about an hour and a half drive from Florence city.

The Villa was incredible and after flicking through a few photos and reviews, instantly I was sold. So instead of staying in Florence and day tripping out, we hired a car and drove down to stay at the Villa for 3 nights. Complete with infinity pool, tennis court, wine tasting lunches & dinners plus horse riding and only a 10 min drive into Chianti town where there are plenty of restaurants and a supermarket – there was no better place to kick back and relaxed for a few days.

Chianti is also a good base point for exploring other areas. We dedicated a day to driving to the medieval town of San Gimignano and Siena each about an hour apart from each other. Both towns were well worth checking out, amazing food and architecture were in abundance.
